We require the following conditions to be met for certification of a "green" vacation rental property.

  1. Vacation rental owner must have a program of recycling available for guests and encourage guests to use it.

  2. Vacation rental owner must use compact fluorescent bulbs or LED bulbs for lighting wherever it is possible to do so.

  3. Vacation rental owner must encourage guests to reduce energy usage as much as possible by cutting off lights and appliances whenever rooms are vacant and by turning off heating and air conditioning when doors and windows are open.
