On the outskirts of Toledo, a rural land of low ridges and sand hills butts up to the Great Black Swamp. This may seem like a quiet place, until 60,000 people blow into Bowling Green for the National Tractor Pulling Championships. If you’re planning on coming that particular August weekend, you’d better book your Northern Ohio vacation rental early.
On any other given weekend, this college town’s coffee shops, restaurants and shops still see a good crowd. Make a great day out of a hike on the Slippery Elm Trail and lunch at the Cohen and Cooke World Market Eatery. The Black Swamp Arts Festival also brings many visitors.
