The “Capital Province” takes its name from Lake Ontario, one of the Great Lakes, but three other Great Lakes lap its shores. Hundreds of smaller lakes (well, relatively smaller) lie inland, creating unlimited possibilities for Ontario vacation rentals.
Although Ottawa is the capital of Canada, Toronto, Canada’s largest city, is the star here. Toronto is also the fifth largest municipality in North America, a melting pot of global culture and an economic powerhouse. It’s one of those “must visit” places any itinerant traveler should put on their list.
Although many Ontario vacation rentals center on that major city, there’s plenty to do elsewhere. In addition to the other Great Lakes, inland waters like Sturgeon Lake offer great fishing and boating as well.
