"Shack on the Sand" Direct Beach Front <br /><br />The "Shack" is a comfortable Direct Beach Front condo in Indian Rocks Beach, on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Indian Rocks Beach is located on the 20 mile long barrier island that runs between Clearwater Beach and Saint Pete's Beach. The nearest airports are Clearwater/St Pete at about 15 miles and Tampa International at 25 miles.<br /> The "Shack on the Sand" is a destination itself. Many guests return a couple of times a year. They claim that it recharges their batteries. The unit would be cute if it sat somewhere else, but the fact that you can look up and be on the beach is fabulous. Ground level buildings are disappearing quickly. At the "Shack" you do not have to take an elevator or walk through a parking garage, you just walk off the front porch. There are 5 to 7 restaurants within walking distance including the original Crabby Bills across the street. Crabby's has a fish market and the CVS on the corner carries groceries. There is a post office nearby, a museum, a park with a gazebo and a wonderful store called Impressive Designs. Indian Rocks Beach is small townAmerica.<br /> <br /> The beach stretches for miles in either direction and the people are friendly. Guests joke that if the "Shack on the Sand" doesn't have it, you don't need it. It is a pleasant, comfortable, friendly, interesting, welcoming place. One young woman said, "This is like coming into someone's home." Guests are encouraged to go through cupboards and drawers. There are books of area history and books for identifying local shells, birds, fish, mammals and plants. There are many day destinations and pamplets are filed in the unit. You may also do a computer search on the in house computer or your own laptop.<br /> <br /> Your hostess/owner is Ann Wilson. She lives a mile away and will happily answer any questions.

"Old Florida” is the term used to describe a slow paced, no high rise, community approach to natural resources. Our 8 unit building is a fine example of 50’s FL, that retains it convenience and charm along with comfortable up dates. Walk out the door onto the beach. You will not have to deal with elevators and parking garages. You may meet your neighbors and maybe make new friends or enjoy the solitude of a private spot. Indian Rocks Beach is small town America.
