You will feel like you've entered a king's mountain paradise as you encounter the luxuries with which this multi-million dollar mountain Boone vacation rental estate surrounds you. The Main House has six private bedrooms and the Guest House sleeps an additional four more, 18-20 sleep in both adjacent home, and comfortably, with over 6,000 heated sq ft.
As soon as you step passed the awning-covered mahogony pergola and enter the home through the main 10-foot high mahogany and glass entrance, you will be awestruck by the magnificence of this home's interior. The vestibule features dual grand staircases leading up to a 35-foot high coffered ceiling and skylight atrium with hand-carved pediment bas-relief along with interior bedroom windows and interior balconies! Throughout the house you'll discover beautiful handcarved woodwork, exquisite tilework, 3 fireplaces, an indoor fountain, a climate control system with 9 separate heating zones, 10-foot ceilings, jetted tub, rain showers and many other architectural and custom features... that keep renters returning year after year!
To the east of the entrance foyer is a large sunroom/bedroom with 10-foot by 10-foot built-in bed/lounging pad surrounded by 28 windows flooding the room with light while offering great views of nearby and distant mountain ranges. The next doorway opens into a unique bathroom and shower fully encompassed with colorful custom handmade ceramic tiles with walk-around rain shower.
On the west side of the foyer is a large, fully-equipped, gourmet kitchen equipped with Subzero Refrigerator/freezer, Miele dishwasher, and 5 Star 48" commercial stove/oven/grill, and with single slab granite countertops, solid cherry cabinets, and a breakfast nook (breakfast eating usually for 8-10) surrounded by 16 windows and a glass door leading to the covered pergola with gas grill.
Through the corridor you pass the pantry with its solid maple cabinets, built-in shelving and washer & dryer to enter the spacious dining room which features a beautiful Italian Morano chandelier, wood-burning fireplace, custom mahogany wood paneling, elegant dining table with upholstered chairs and French doors leading onto the pergola.
Pass the indoor fountain which fills the home with the soothing sounds of trickling water and enter the media room with leather sofas, built-in equipment center, 32-inch LCD flat screen satellite TV and doors leading onto the covered bluestone terrace where the 5+ person hot tub and surrounding 75+ mile mountain views await. Some of the best views in the area come from Boone and Blowing Rock.
Continue down the hall and enter the magnificent 3-story-high custom paneled living room complete with fireplace, new 42" flatscreen satellite TV with DVD player, three silk couches, wide plank, quarter sawn, heartwood antique pine flooring, and a 30-foot cathedral celing with custom hammered beam wood trusses. With 25 windows, 6 glass doors, 3 chandeliers, and 2 Morano glass sconces in the living room alone, the warmth and brightness of this room will welcome you both day and night.
Adjacent to the living room is the library with 400+ hardcover books for your reading pleasure, and through the library is the custom mahogany-paneled study with desk, comfortable queen-sized leather sleeper sofa, and French doors leading onto the pergola. This room has an internet connection for your use.
Upstairs are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. On the east side is a bedroom with queen bed and an adjoining full bathroom with Italian glass mosaic tile, and a larger bedroom also with a private entrance to the bathroom with queen bed and a private covered porch boasting spectacular mountain views. On the west side is a bedroom with a king-sized bed, a private covered porch and an elegant full bathroom with rain shower with a walk-in closet.
The entire northern side of the upstairs makes up the grand master suite which includes a large walk-in closet with built-in dresser, a full bathroom with rain shower room enclosed with marble, travertine and antique French terra cotta tiles, a nook with a large jetted whilrpool tub and fully arched tile ceiling, custom vanities with single slab marble countertops, the master bedroom with queen bed, a sofa next to the wood-burning fireplace, and a gallery with built-in seating overlooking the living room which leads to a private covered porch with a porch swing to rest and enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains.
The home is located at an elevation of nearly 4,000 feet where the summer's high temperatures average only 75 degrees. Therefore, although there is no traditional "air conditioning" system because the home's unique and comprehensive ventilation / cooling system which includes six exhaust fans and six ceiling fans create a comfortably cool atmosphere throughout the home during even the warmest summer days.
Also included on the property are a level grassed-in yard, a stone walking path around the main house and several acres of mountain terrain with stone formations, a stream and trails to explore.
***GUEST HOUSE*** The two story, 1,400 square foot, guest house above the garage can be reserved for an additional $75 per night or $250 per week. It sleeps an additional 4 and includes the POOL TABLE, FOOSBALL TABLE, dinner table for 8, full kitchen, bathroom, satellite tv and even more privacy and quiet from the main estate. There is a private queen bedroom and two singles in a loft area.
