Welcome to Negreval, a charming retreat in the heart of gastronomic France.
This beautiful 200 year old farmhouse has been in our family for 20 years and is the ideal holiday villa. Lovingly restored and modernized it still retains its original charm with cool stone flagged floors and oak beams. Its idyllic hilltop location affords staggering, panoramic views of the surrounding farmland. The abundance of local markets and produce make this the perfect location for a self-catering holiday. With the relaxed feel of a country cottage this character gite provides a wonderful opportunity for al fresco living.
Wander down to the village in the morning to buy croissants from the boulangerie; pick some cherries, apples or figs from the garden; select the finest produce from one of the many local markets, swim in the gorgeous lake- just a 5 minute drive away- and then relax on the terrace with a glass of wine as you watch the sun set behind the ancient oak tree. In other words unwind and enjoy the unique atmosphere that is Negreval.
Winter Breaks are popular too with a large fireplace in the living room and full central heating throughout the house.

Negreval is a beautiful property set in 5 acres of private garden. We have 3 children and the house is very well set up to accomodate them.
SWIMMING ? There are two main places for public swimming, the base de loisiers at both Molliere and Lafrancaise. Mollieres is a lake with a beach and a playground next to it, Lafrancise is a full size outdoor pool with a children?s pool adjoining.
PADDLING ? there is a paddling pool available to put up in the garden. Please fill it up with the hose and empty it before you leave.
CANOEING ? at St. Antonin-Nobal-Val down the gorges is a great day out. Reservations recommended in the summer, call directly (number in house). 2 or 3 to a canoe. Takes about 3 hours with a leisurely paddle, suitable 6yr and over. About 20E per canoe. St Antonin is about a 50min drive to the East.
HORSE RIDING ? at Lauzerte
Restaurants
Mollieres has a good little bistro doing traditional rural French cuisine, 05 63 95 51 10
Castlenau Montratier has some good cafes to eat at around the square
For fine dining we would recommend
? Restaurant Hotel Du Quercy at Lauzerte. Booking essential 05 63 94 66 36.
? Les Saveurs D?Ingres at 11 Rue Hotel du Ville, Montauban, just up the road from the Musee D?Ingres for a more contemporary taste. 05 63 91 26 42
Garden
There are fruit trees of various types sectreated around the garden, do please look out for, and use the fruit that is ripe during your stay.
? May ? the black cherry tree outside the garden room to the left of the terrace. This one is hard to miss as it is so large and has the most exquisite cherries. They are lovely raw, cooked, bottled, juiced and added to gin etc etc. There are two other trees of this kind and a cherry de-stoner in one of the cupboards in the kitchen.
? June ? red cherries on the tree on the orchard terrace, good for eating. The cherries on the trees in the front garden (out of the front door and look left) are fantastic cooked, in tarts, crumbles etc.
? July
? August ? two large fig trees near the washing line and old well. Peaches, nectarines should be ripening up nicely.
? September ? peaches, nectarines, apples, plums, pears, all in the upper orchard. Enjoy.
Herbs : plenty of rosemary, sage and oregano on the bank in the front garden. Buy small live herbs from the LaFrancaise markets, quite cheap. Why not put some in pots for subsequent guests? There is a bay tree by the well ? find it if you can!
