Villa Kohinoor is set into the hillside above the bay at Kalkan and offers breathtaking uninterrupted panoramic views of Kalkan Bay.
…this also makes for a quiet and private escape from the heat and bustle of Kalkan - Kiziltas is the most expensive residential area of Kalkan for a reason:-)
There is ample accommodation for 8 people although groups of 10 have been accomodated using additional beds.
Villa Kohinoor will provide an elegant holiday experience for a discerning family or for a group of friends with style...
Surrounding the villa is a marble terrace which is great for sun worshipers fully equipped with loungers and parasols, and there is also a large roof terrace for private sunbathinig. The setting offers complete privacy.
There is a shady pergola area furnished with a mosaic table, wrought iron chairs and gas BBQ for al fresco dining. There is another separate seating area with wrought iron settees and white cushions for the those cool summer sundowners.
The fresh water private pool of 40sq.metres is set in large grounds of 700sq. metres which has been planted with palms, bougainvillea, lemon trees, and has three ancient olive trees which are abundant in black olives each year.
The villa is furnished to a high standard using a mix of Turkish and western themes. The entrance hall has an atrium with a marble staircase that ascends up 3 floors to the roof terraces. There is an Italian designer kitchen from Franke.
On the first floor there are 2 king size double and 1 twin bedded rooms. Both the double rooms have private balconies, sea views and king size beds On the ground floor there is a double room with an adjoining bathroom.
The villa is ideal for groups of friends or families with older children, who enjoy water sports, excellent restaurants, mountain walks and private relaxation.
If you are energetic you may be interested to walk along the historic Lycian Way. The best months of the year to walk are October, November, March, April and the first half of May. December to February often enjoy long spells of glorious weather, but there is generally more chance of rain during that period. From the end of May until the end of September, the higher temperatures make it unsuitable for walking except along the more shaded sections of the walk.
If lazy days are more your style the the pool terrace is second to none and the views rival any in France, Italy or Spain. A short 10 minute drive or Dolmus journey takes you to the beautiful Patara beach.
At 18km, Patara beach is one of the longest unspoilt beaches in the world and in parts it reaches a width of 200-300 metres. The beach has soft sand and a shallow sea. It is the one of the places that sea turtle leave their eggs. Because of this, the beach is under protection. At its Eastern-most point there is a rocky outcrop looking over a spectacular rocky cove. There is no development here and access is via a ruined Roman city. Bring a picnic, and truly escape from the world:-)
For those who may be considering a winter break Villa Kohonoor has full central heating as well as air conditioning units that can be set to heat. Kalkan is quiet and peaceful from October to April and walks in the Taurus mountains or along the beach are truly refreshing and calming.

Many people like to walk down to the town which is 15 or 20 mins depending on whether you stop to take pictures and marvel at the view every few steps. Coming back is a taxi or car ride - why waste energy!...
