Late summer means wild blueberry picking, while tidal pools abound with sealife all season long. (Children's author Robert McCloskey, wrote about Brooksville in his book "One Morning in Maine" and visitors will recognize the church and "Condon's Garage" on traveling through the village of Buck's Harbor.) <br /> <br /> The town of Blue Hill is about a dozen miles from the inn, and Deer Isle and Stonington offer a taste of the real Maine seacoast, with working harbors, fishing boats, outstanding seafood, and watercraft rentals.
