le cinque terre are one of the most spectacular stretches of Liguria coastline is located just a half hour south of Genoa. Part of a national park and recently declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Cinque Terre (Five Lands) is a relatively unspoilt area of land stretching for seven kilometres along the coast from Monterosso in the north and the only one which has a large sandy beach, througout Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola to arrive in Riomaggiore the southest. Lush green terraces of olive and lemon trees fall steeply to a turquoise sea, and brightly coloured villages cling to rocky cliff sides.
