A special feature is an authentic wood-fired Finnish Sauna & a natural Springfed "plunge pond" just outside the door, providing a great way to soothe sore/tired muscles after a day on the ski slopes or to calm the weary spirit after a long week at home or in the office. The area features attractions such as skiing, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, swimming, shopping,antiquing, as well as great restaurants, theater, live music and galleries. Great Saturday morning storytime program for young ones at the Woodstock Library. The Summertime Outdoor Shakespeare Festival(Wknds)is a great (family) event. Make Reservations early @ The Bear Cafe (Bearsville), just down the road, for a sumptuous dinner streamside. Afterward, check out The Bearsville Theater for great music events. Don't miss Opus Forty, a remarkable bluestone sculpture environment created (by hand) by the artist Harvey Fite,over forty years of his life. Great Skiing:Hunter, Bellayre, Windham(particularly good for families/kids),is within a short drive (30-40 mins). *FourWheel/FrontWheel drive is always preferable during the winter months*
