Music House Museum
Located among the cherry orchards near Acme. Visitors are treated to an hour guided tour through a large collection of rare automated musical instruments, many of them 19th century antiques. Player pianos, church organs, air-powered music machines, early phonographs and radios, and colorful early jukeboxes fill the renovated white barn that houses the collection. The highlight of the tour is a boisterous demonstration of the Amaryllis, a 30-foot-wide, 18-foot-tall automated organ that entertained folks in the 1920s at the Victoria Palace ballroom in Ypres, Belgium. The rare, ornate device uses dozens of specially voiced organ pipes and percussion instruments to produce the sound of a large European orchestra.

Wineries & Breweries
At last count, there were over 25 wineries in the Grand Traverse area. Local wines are considered by many, including moi, to be among the finest, nationally or internationally. The ideal climate, with vineyards protected by winter snows and conditions moderated by proximity to Lake Michigan, has given rise to a wine industry that has been recognized for its quality and variety since the first winery opened here in 1974. Local beers are also good and we have many great local brews to guzzle - oops, I mean savor...

Wintertime Activities -
Snowmobiling!
There are hundreds of miles of trails around the Grand Traverse region, a lot of these trails are around Lake Ann. There are trails for every taste – from twisting and turning through dense hardwood forests, touring over hills, bridges, and waterways, or racing across wide-open spaces with plenty of room to enjoy the fresh white powder. Best of all, the trail systems are close to Traverse City’s resorts and restaurants – an important consideration at the end of a long day of sledding. That’s snowmobiling “Traverse City style” – a blend of backwoods adventure, aesthetic appreciation and off-the-trail pampering. Many sledders come here precisely because they want to sample its winter amenities. Check out he trail map here
