A country cottage lovingly and authentically restored whilst incorporating all mod cons and pool. Situated in a mountain hamlet, 15 minutes drive from the ancient town of Ponte de Lima with its beautiful river frontage, Roman bridge and medieval centre. Essentially rural atmosphere enhanced by sounds from farm animals and local church bells. Friendly, welcoming villagers but very little English spoken.Restaurant with take-away service and village stores one mile away, local market town, Paredes de Coura a 10 minute drive. Outstanding location for sightseeing with Spanish Galicia to the north, the Atlantic beaches to the west, the historic towns of Braga, Guimaraes and Porto to the south and the national park of Peneda/Geres to the east. Many quaint market towns with their local festas, street markets and ancient centres. Hill top shrines affording fantastic views, some giving a 360? panorama. Excellent for walking - there is a wild protected area (park) a 5 minute drive away, golf, canoeing, numerous river beaches for swimming and much more. Many reasonably priced restaurants in local towns with several sophisticated restaurants for a more special evening.
