Nestled at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and very near Yosemite National Park, this custom-built, tri-level, three bedroom, one and a half bath home is set on eight secluded acres and has extensive decking and spa overlooking the boulder filled Sierra Mountain Creek and surrounding hills.
Intriguing architecture adds much to the allure of this amazing place that comfortably accommodates from two, to six guests. SierraScape is beautifully furnished with an eclectic mix of comfort and style, has a FULLY-equipped kitchen with every convenience, large, beautifully done bedrooms as well as the most incredible outdoor patio you have possibly ever seen.
The extensive patio and deck area is absolutely gorgeous. It is ultra private and surrounded by boulders and lush, year-round greenery, the lower section has the hot tub and overlooks the incredible ITALIAN CREEK.
Inside, you'll find the following:
THE LIVING, KITCHEN AND DINING AREAS...
SierraScape’s living room has high, open-beam ceilings and includes a reclining sofa, several comfortable chairs, the Giant, stone fireplace (firewood provided), Stereo system, TV w/DVD/VCR and extensive satellite channels, including HBO. There is an abundance of board games, an interesting collection of books and novels as well as access out the French doors, leading directly out onto the back deck area and full-size SPA.
This room sits adjacent to the sunny dining area that seats up to six, and just beyond that, the arched entrance leads you into the well-stocked, fully-equipped kitchen with modern appliances, gas stove, refrigerator w/ice maker, double stainless sink with plumbed, purified RO drinking water, Granite countertops, dishwasher, microwave, multiple windows and a BEAUTIFUL view...
THE BEDROOMS and BATHS...
The large, Master Suite is located on the second level and has open-beam, cathedral ceilings & skylight, a Queen bed, loveseat, a vanity/sink and a side door that opens onto its own private deck, leading down to the hot tub. The Room With a View is located on the third level, at one end of the catwalk and also has high, open-beam ceilings, a King bed, beautiful view and French doors that lead out onto a private balcony, overlooking the creek.
The Lodge room is located at the other end of the catwalk, also on the third level and has a Queen bed, high open-beam ceilings and several distant views. The upstairs, half-bath is also located along this catwalk, separating the two upper bedrooms and allowing for more privacy and convenience.
All three bedrooms are beautifully outfitted with both modern & antique furniture as well as comfortable, quality beds. Each room has a ceiling fan, a sitting/reading area and writing desk, adding to the comfort and solitude of each individual space. Extra blankets are plentiful here and can be easily found throughout the house.
Located on the first floor is the unique, full bathroom with an open, 6' tile shower that has dual shower heads, multiple windows and private, distant views. It also has a large soaking tub, a real treat! Conveniently, this main bathroom is accessible from common living space as is the half-bath upstairs so no traipsing through someone else's bedroom on your way to the loo ;-).
And Outside...
You’ll find the incredible, multi-level Sunny Garden Deck that is absolutely, positively fantastic. This area overlooks the boulder filled creek and surrounding hills and leads past the spa, up to the garden gate that leads you down a short path, right to the water's edge. The creek is seasonal however there is water running 6-8 months of the year and small pools amongst the rocks year-round.
The full-size SPA is transcendent, it is sunken so is easy to get in and out of, exceptionally well-kept, available ALL year long and is incredibly inviting... While just 10 or so steps from the living room door, this Spa is virtually in another world, decadently perched over the creek and under the wide-open, star-studded sky.
"Regardless of how stressed one may be, if they cannot get their mind in a better place sitting out on your deck and listening to nature, they need professional help."
There are two separate table and chair combinations as well as lounge furniture, a vine covered trellis, full feeders that attract a wide variety of birds, a clean Gas Grill and an abundance of flowering pots and native plants that surround you. Gold pans are also provided for those who would like to try their hand at striking it rich in the creek. ;-)
You can be far away from it all here in your secluded home away from home, and yet easily be hiking in Yosemite, through the Giant Sequoias or up to Glacier Point, skiing at Badger Pass, boating on beautiful Bass Lake or sledding in the snow at Goat Meadow Winter Sports Area in under an hour's time.

Area Description: While SierraScape is ideally located for enjoying all that Yosemite and its surrounding areas have to offer, it is also perfect for folks keen on being able to just sit back, relax and enjoy themselves in their own private paradise (and never encounter the tourists!).
SierraScape sits well off Hwy 49 just nine easy miles south of the historic Gold Rush town of Mariposa and is ideally located in between two different entrances to Yosemite National Park, both well under an hour away. These two entrance routes (via Highway 140 or Highway 41) offer a myriad of terrific activities and attractions along the way to the park.

Hwy 140, the scenic “all weather highway”, meanders through the Wild and Scenic Merced River Canyon and takes you directly into Yosemite Valley, through the “Arch Rock” entrance. The Merced River Recreation Area at Briceburg is just a 14 drive from The Scape and has small, sandy beaches just perfect for picnics, wading, and summertime swimming. The river is also great for fishing, hiking, camping, wild life viewing, and for the even more adventurous, white-water rafting and kayaking. There are several commercial rafters who provide trips down portions of the river.
Traveling in the other direction, up Hwy. 41 outside of Oakhurst will lead you to the southern entrance into Yosemite where you’ll find things to do and see such as the world famous Mariposa Grove’s Giant Sequoias, Glacier Point, Badger Pass Ski Area, Goat Meadow Winter Sports Area where you can cross-country ski or let the kids play and sled in the snow and of course beautiful BASS LAKE with its water sports, beaches and restaurants. In addition, there are some fantastic hiking trails (many that welcome dogs) and the historic Sugar Pine Railroad adventure, a really fun thing to do as a family!
Closer to home you can enjoy downtown Mariposa's historic charm, its art galleries, antique and gift shops as well as the California State Mining Exhibit and the Mariposa Gold Country Museum, both of which are WELL worth visiting. You can see California's oldest operating courthouse here, or tour our local wineries and taste some of the area's award-winning mountain wines.
