Welcome to our cozy Lake Tahoe cabin near the beach and skiing! An excellent vacation rental choice for any season!
Outside: Our cabin sits on a large parcel (200 ft by 50 ft) nestled in the forest a few blocks from Lake Tahoe. The driveway accommodates 3 vehicles. Decks are on three sides. The back deck, which is several feet off the ground, is fenced so that small children and dogs can wander on it safely. The front deck has a picnic table and benches. Have breakfast outside and watch the world go by as you sip your coffee. You will find a BBQ grill and folding chairs in storage areas. The side deck is covered for easy entry in the winter.
Inside: Our cabin is 1100 sq. ft. and very comfortable. The kitchen has every kind of appliance you can imagine: coffee grinder (so bring your own beans!) waffle iron, juicer, popcorn popper, crock pot, salad spinner, cork screw, electric frying pan (for pancakes at the breakfast table), hand and table model electric mixers. There are plenty of big pots and pans, salad bowls and casserole dishes if you are cooking for a gang. Take the hibachi outside to use it. There are also staples such as sugar, salt, pepper, spices, cooking oil, etc. in the cabinets, and of course, dishes. The major appliances are new as of 2006.
There is a washer and dryer as well as a locker for skis and boots in the entryway.
The living room has a wood-burning stove, but there is also a forced-air gas furnace, so it's not necessary to tend a fire. We have over 300 movies there if you just want to snuggle down. You will find several informative binders and brochures about things to do at Tahoe.
One bathroom has a tub and shower, the other has a shower. There are hair-dryers in both. There are electric wall heaters in both bathrooms.
There is a cabinet with board games in the back bedroom. One bedroom has a bookcase loaded with novels and books about things of local interest: trees, birds, flowers, local history. Writing paper is in the desk drawer. There is a box of toys for a toddler in the bedroom with the crib. There is also a booster seat, a pack for carrying a baby, and several chairs sized for the under-5 crowd.

The Two Morrows cabin at Tahoma was perfect for or family. We are not skiers or lured to the brights of the South Shore. So this cabin (really a house) on the quiet west shore in the fall or late spring was appealing. We have gone back several times and noted that Roberta has continually upgraded all the things that make it more like a home than a rental. The kitchen is well equipped, but there are also some places to eat within walking distance. We wandered into nearby Sugar Pine Point State Park on walks and took advantage to the access to the lake to have a picnic. One year we took along my mother, a tough critic with high standards, and she liked it! Another year, our son, who is a snowboarder, rented the cabin during snow season with some friends. The Homewood ski area was close and convenient and gave them all the winter fun they wanted. We don't know what the Michelin Guide would say about the Two Morrows cabin, but for our family, we would give it five stars.

I have been there twice and plan to go again. Nestled in a pine-forested lot, the cabin feels more like a home than rental property. The rooms are tastefully decorated in themes. There are cozy corners for cuddling up with a book or someone else. A fully equipped kitchen makes meal preparation easy - or walk down to the pizzeria. Lake Tahoe is also walking distance. I hiked part of the Tahoe Rim Trail and also watched the salmon spawn near South Tahoe. Next time I will try the nearby ski slopes.
