Tindari (9 Km ) is a Greco-Roman archaeological site with an ancient Greek theatre (still showing classic performances from May through August) basilica, insulae, terme, antiquarium; and also the most recent discovery, an ancient street "il decumano." The Black Madonna resides in Tindari's church and one of the best local restaurants with great ambience (and not too costly) is there overlooking the sea. Below is a nature reserve sanctuary (Laghetti di Marinello) of salt water lakes, visitable by day. It is also possible to make excursions into the wood in the near Nebrodi Regional Park. In the immediate area there are several local bars serving good coffee, drinks, gelati and granita; restaurants, pizzarias, gelaterias, groceries, pasticerias (fresh breads and sweets.) Also there are three Lidos (outside bar-disco on the beach)in the gulf, and two discotech (1 Km and 500 mt.)
