We enjoyed a wonderful week in Villa Belo Horizonte. The setting is superb, the views spectacular and the standard of accommodation very high. For August the temperatures were very pleasant (around 26C), and sunbathing on the terrace is certainly not the ordeal it can be in other holiday destinations. The pool is small but perfect for a quick dip, and the barbecue was a welcome surprise for us. A few tips: try the half day introduction to scuba at nearby Canico de Baixal (Manta Diving)- good value for money and the sealife is amazing. There are several good places to eat around there too, as well as in canico itself and of course Funchal. A drive into the mountains is a must, as well as the cable car to the Tropical Gardens in Monte. If you have kids, take them to the Aquapark in Santa Cruz. Special thanks to the very helpful Sr. Pestana who helped us settle in and made sure we had all the information we needed. If you are planning to stay in Madeira, this property is highly recommended.
