Cabuya Montezuma Costa Rica Location Type: Beach, Near the Ocean, River, Rural, Village Nearest Airport: San Jose Miles
Area Description: On Costa Rica’s pacific ocean side, just between Mal-Pais, Santa Teresa and Montezuma, lies the village of Cabuya. A wide unspoiled 3km beach reaches up to the first reserve in Costa Rica, Cabo Blanco. The water we drink in Cabuya comes from the reserve and its the tastiest water you will ever drink. Because the beach in Cabuya is a bit rocky, most of the time you will find the beach very private. You might see the fishermen go out to fish or someone walking in the sand and looking for sea glass, shells and colorful stones. Almost everything is in a walking distance. Within 2 minutes walk you will find a bakery, a sushi bar, a lovely Internet cafe, two small local grocery stores, where you will find anything you need from fishing gear to lovely organic fruits and vegetables at very low rates. Several local fishermen sell fresh fish. there are two surf point nearby, one for beginners and one for more advanced surfer ... [Read More]

We had a fantastic time at Villa Labadee. I don't think I've ever been quite so at peace. The sounds of the waves to serenade you to sleep at night and the singing of the birds in the morning as you rise. wow! Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy, which is one of the reasons I was so blissed out while I was here. Everyday was beautiful....the weather, the scenery....all of it. We booked our stay at Labadee after recommendations from a couple of friends who had not long returned. Definitely a good choice. The house is great. Clean and comfy, with beautiful surrounding. We didn't have a car, so it was good having everything within walking distance - a couple of grocery stores, local restaurants, I even made use of the small library. We did rent ATVs for a few days which was great fun for zipping around the peninsula....Montezuma, Mal Pais & Santa Teresa and we had a great day up in Manzanillo, stunning beaches. One night we even had a bonfire down on the beach under the full moon. Amazing. We definitely got the rest and relaxation we were looking for, along with a whole lot of fun mixed in. Thank you so much for your hospitality and for sharing your beautiful home. Laura - Apr 4, 2010 |
