This charming cottage on over 100 acres has glorious 50-mile views over the Hudson Valley. The surrounding area is beautiful and historic. Near the Massachusetts border, the cottage is close to the many wonderful attractions and towns in the Berkshires. (Tanglewood is 14 miles.) Autumn is wonderful at the cottage, with the surrounding forests in full fall color.

The cottage has one bedroom (queen bed), and one-and-half baths. There is also a detached bedroom/bathroom called The Summer Room, which is a few steps from the main house across a deck. There is a full kitchen, with microwave and a sofa sleeper in the living room.

There’s lots to see and do, with concerts, galleries, antiques, restaurants, museums and historic sites, live theatre, hiking, biking, tennis, golf, and horseback riding nearby. The cottage is ready to go -- just bring your suitcase. All linens, cookware and tableware are provided. There is a Vermont Castings woodstove (as well as forced air heat) and a washer and dryer. We have DirectTV and a DSL hookup.

The cottage is located in Columbia County in upstate New York, east of the Taconic Parkway. NYC is a little over two hours away and and Boston is less than three hours away.

There’s lots to see and do, with concerts, galleries, antiques, restaurants, museums and historic sites, live theatre, hiking, biking, tennis, golf, and horseback riding nearby. Summerstock musicals, dramas, and classical productions are done locally in NY or the Berkshires by several theater companies. Tanglewood is an easy drive. Warren Street in nearby Hudson is an antiquing mecca. In Spencertown, there the Spencertown Academy, with art showings, lectures, presentations, music, and film showings. There is a strong Shaker presence in the area, with a museum in New York and a Shaker Village in Hancock, Massachesetts. There is the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge as well as many historically significant properties in both New York and Massachusetts. There is also an outlet mall in Lee, Massachusetts and lots of charming little towns, with great restaurants and unique shops and galleries.
