Luxurious, Spacious, Convenient, Quiet Something for Everyone! Two huge great rooms, each with a fireplace! Upstairs has a great room with a fireplace and a huge 2 story soaring ceiling with a Casablanca ceiling fan, 42”television, DVD, VCR, and 5 (yes 5) recliners and a sofa, all attached to a gourmet kitchen and dining area. Most of the furniture is leather and this room opens to a den with a desk and floor to ceiling bookcases. The floor to ceiling windows encase 2 sets of sliding glass doors which open onto the upstairs deck where there is a large gas grill and a beautiful view of the mountains and trees. The Master Bedroom has a king size bed, large private bathroom and opens onto the upstairs deck. Also on the main floor of the house (upstairs) there is a second bedroom with a queen size bed next to a full bath. Downstairs there are two more bedrooms, one with a king size bed and one with a double bed and a single bed. There is a third bathroom downstairs. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms are large. Also downstairs is a laundry room with a washer and dryer. Downstairs also includes a bar with 4 bar stools, pool/ping pong table, game table and reading area with a television, stereo/CD player and VCR. The sliding glass doors open onto the downstairs deck which is shaded. This property is on the back side of the mountain opposite the ski slopes, snow tubing hills, the lodge bar & restaurant, and the golf pro shop. We often walk to these attractions. The lake is a 5 minute drive down Resort Drive where you can swim, sun bathe and rent small boats. Orkney Springs, a beautiful little town 2.5 miles away, is the summer home of the Fairfax County Symphony Orchestra where you can attend lovely concerts under the skies on their beautiful lawn while dining on your own picnic or one provided by their refreshment stand. The equestrian barn is only about 3 miles away if you like to ride and a trip to our local fallow deer farm where you can feed the deer, pick your own homespun vegetables, and buy fresh eggs (and I do mean fresh) from 19 varieties of chickens is a short drive from the house. Of course, if you have 4 wheel drive you can go the back way through the ford at the creek and then it’s an even shorter drive. There are many antique shops, vineyards and caverns to explore in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. In the fall, you might try a family trip to the corn maze, about 12 miles away, located on the same road and next to Meem’s Bottom Covered Bridge. |

Activities and Attractions on Property:
Visitors keep coming back to Bryce Resort for all sorts of reasons, in all four seasons. Some love the variety of family activities possible here, from the nation's first mountain tubing run , skiing (it’s the best place in the mid-Atlantic region to learn how to ski), snowboarding, and snow tubing to golf, swimming, tennis, hiking, horseback riding, and lake activities.
Activities and Attractions Nearby:
Others come to explore the historic and scenic Shenandoah Valley (we’re only 11 miles from the Old Valley Pike, aka Route 11). Towns and villages in the area date back to the mid-1700s, and the area was the scene of many Civil War battles during the Valley Campaign of 1864. Most of these towns have museums, old buildings and churches, and other historic sites (not to mention antique shops, galleries, and gift shops) just waiting to be explored. The beautifully preserved historic towns of Winchester (an hour to the north) and Staunton (an hour and 15 minutes to the south) are easy day trips from Bryce Resort. In between, the charming and historic towns of Strasburg, Woodstock, Edinburg, Mount Jackson, and New Market offer plenty to see and do, and all are between 20 and 45 minutes from Bryce. Civil War buffs in particular enjoy visiting the battlefields and museums in the area. (Click here for a sampling of area attractions).
